Cleaners Hemel Hempstead

Cleaners in Leverstock Green

Leverstock Green is on the eastern edge of Hemel Hempstead, in HP3, on the side that looks towards St Albans. It was a village long before the new town arrived, and it kept its own centre when the town grew out to meet it, with Holy Trinity Church, built in the late 1840s, and its own village hall, shops and pubs. The prices are the town’s: £186 for a team deep clean, £77 for a single oven and £36 for a bedroom carpet.

Old village, newer roads

The old village centre came before the new town, and the estate roads beyond it came later, as Hemel spread east. When you ring, say which you are in and describe the stairs. A staircase that turns on the way up is still one flight at £41 for a carpet clean, but the hand work takes longer on the turn, and the slot we book should allow for it.

Parking outside the zone

Dacorum’s controlled parking covers the town centre, the Old Town and the streets by the station. Leverstock Green is outside all of it, so there is no permit to arrange and nothing to pay. The van goes on your drive if there is room, or in the road nearby.

Bigger houses, longer visits

In a family house with three bathrooms, or a study and a playroom on top of the bedrooms, three hours of regular cleaning can leave the same rooms untouched every week. We would sooner say so at the start. Four hours weekly comes to £92 at £23 an hour, with the same cleaner on each visit, and fortnightly is £24 an hour.

Oven, hob and hood

An oven on its own is £77 single or £110 double. Add the hob and the extractor on one visit and the three cost £117 around a single oven, or £143 around a double. Racks, trays and the hood’s metal filters soak in our heated tank outside while one of us works through the oven interior, glass and hob indoors.

Lets beside Maylands

Maylands Business Park is next door, and homes let to people working there often change hands at short notice. A tenancy clean goes by bedrooms: £207 for one, £243 for two, £339 for three. Carpets done with it are £29 a bedroom and £36 a lounge. Ring as soon as notice is given, and we will look for a slot between the removal van and the check-out.

Sport on the doorstep

Leverstock Green Cricket Club plays on Bedmond Road and the football club at Pancake Lane. If you live beside either, mention it when you book a weekend visit, and we will plan where the van stops before we set off. Bennetts End is next door, Grovehill is at the northern end of the town’s eastern edge, and our whole service list is on the Hemel Hempstead page.

Questions we get asked

Do you cover the old village as well as the newer roads?

Yes. Our Bennetts End round carries on into Leverstock Green, so the streets round Holy Trinity and the estate roads beyond them are both covered, at the same prices as the rest of town.

How much is a weekly cleaner for a bigger house?

Weekly visits cost £23 an hour per cleaner and fortnightly ones £24, and no visit is shorter than three hours. For a house with several bathrooms we usually suggest four hours, which is £92 a week.

Can the oven, hob and extractor be done in one visit?

Yes. The three together are £117 if the oven is a single and £143 if it is a double, with racks and hood filters soaking in the van’s tank during the hand work.

Will parking be a problem?

Rarely. Leverstock Green is outside Dacorum’s controlled parking zone, so there are no permits to arrange. We use the drive if there is room, or stop in the road close by.
